《荣誉勋章》标榜的就是真实的史实，本作中也不例外，玩家将扮演82空降师德上等兵博伊德崔维斯，转战于欧洲各个战场。游戏开始于西西里岛战役，玩家将体验到盟军从处于劣势到扭转战局，最后挺进德国境内，赢取最后的胜利。玩家由于扮演的时候空降部队，所以多数的战斗都是从敌后阵地开始，玩家在游戏时能够充分体会到在战场上被敌人包围，需要努力存活下去并突出重围。在游戏中也能够体验到战争的残酷性。
